CLUB LIMERICK ( DUBLIN ) NOTES
Willie Devitt of Doon – Club Limerick Dublin Person of the Year 2019
The 5th annual Club Limerick Dublin All-Ireland Championship Preview event at the Red Cow Moran Hotel was an outstanding success and the club would like to thank most sincerely all those corporate and individuals supporters who made it such an enjoyable day. Thanks also to special guests Michael Duignan, Ciarán Carey, Ken McGrath, Eddie Brennan and Ursula Jacob who greatly entertained and informed the audience. Many thanks also to impressionist Aidan Tierney.
A highlight of the event was the inauguration of Willie Devitt from Doon as the Club Limerick Dublin Person of the Year 2019. Willie, his family and friends were there in numbers to honour the businessman, hurler and Club Limerick supporter for many years. Willie succeeds Stephen O’Byrnes from Kildimo-Pallaskenry.
A significant sum was raised for the Mary Cregan Charitable effort from the auction of signed jerseys from the 2018 All-Ireland Champions – Limerick and Dublin.
Munster Hurling
Hard luck to the Limerick senior hurlers and best wishes for the Waterford game. The season is only starting and Limerick supporters everywhere will rally to the cause. Well done to the minor hurlers on a very promising display against Cork.
Bereavement – Denis Barrett
Club Limerick Dublin extends its sympathy to the family and friends of Denis Barratt from Bruff, selector of the 1973 All-Ireland winning team. Ar dheis Dé go raibh sé.
