CAHERLINE GAA CLUB NOTES

CLUB LOTTO: It’s hoped that once a return to play is authorised, we’ll be able to get our lotto up & running again. We hope to have more information for you in the next week or so.

RETURN TO PLAY: We are nearly there! The GAA have announced a revised Master Fixtures Calendar for 2021…the inter-county season will run from the weekend of May 8th/9th to August 28th/29th, with the County and Provincial Club Championships being played in the months of September, October, November, and December. Of course, all of this is dependent on virus numbers being manageable, but for the first time in a long time, there is hope – seeing our clubs with gates open and people playing, and especially young people back out in the open air with their friends, will be worth the wait.

CLUB LIMERICK DRAW: Limerick GAA have a great exclusive star prize this April, just in time for those long summer evenings! Support the Club Limerick Draw and be in with a chance to win a fabulous Weber Spirit II E-320 GBS Gas Barbecue PLUS €250 worth of free utensils, in association with Tadhg O’Connor Hardware Newcastle West. Log onto limerickgaa.ie/club-limerick-draw to join today or reach out to any committee member.

GARDA VETTING: Ahead of a return to play, it’s important to note that any person who carries out a role of responsibility such as coaching, managing or training underage teams or indeed adult teams that contain any player under 18 yrs. of age, MUST be Garda vetted. It also applies to organising underage activities or refereeing underage games. It is a criminal offence, for a person acting on behalf of the GAA, to commence working with children without that person first obtaining a vetting disclosure. To complete the vetting procedure, please go to www.gaa.ie/news/vetting.
