CAHERLINE GAA CLUB NOTES
RETURN TO TRAINING: The GAA has issued advice to clubs and counties for activities that are permissible and not permissible in 2021 until further notice. Under Level 5 of the plan for living with Covid-19, individual training only is permitted for GAA clubs. Neither adult nor underage teams may train collectively & club games are not permitted.
MEMBERSHIP: Caherline GAA membership for 2021 can now be paid online through the Gaa’s Foireann website at returntoplay.gaa.ie. This is the same website where the health questionnaires were filled out before training & matches during the latter end of 2020. While we won’t be back hurling for a while, membership is necessary for insurance coverage when we do return. If you haven’t already registered on this system, you will have to register with a username and password and assign Caherline GAA as your club. Once logged in, you will see the membership tab on the left-hand side, click on this and you will see the different membership options available. Click on ‘register’ with the membership
option applicable to you; you will be taken to a secure payments link (operated by Stripe) and your payment can be made here by card, directly to the club. Membership for 2021 is as follows:- Adult Player = €40; Adult non-player = €30; U-21 = €30; All U-18’s = €20 (Max €50 per family).
PWC ALL-STARS: Many congratulations to Limerick GAA last Saturday evening – a record equalling 9 all-stars and hurler of the year, capping off an incredible 2020! This follows on John Kiely having been named RTE Manager of the Year and the Limerick Senior Hurling team being named RTE Team of The Year.
GARDA VETTING: Notice to anyone involved with juvenile players – any person who carries out a role of responsibility such as coaching, managing or training underage teams or indeed adult teams that contain any player under 18 yrs. of age, must be Garda vetted. It also applies to organising underage activities or refereeing underage games. It is a criminal offence, for a person acting on behalf of the GAA, to commence working with children without that person first obtaining a vetting disclosure. To complete the vetting procedure, please go to www.gaa.ie/news/vetting.
