CRECORA MANISTER GAA CLUB NOTES
CLUB DEVELOPMENT PLAN – ASTRO PITCH
The Government Sports Capital grants scheme, which only comes out every two years or so, is currently open and taking applications up until the end of February 2021.
It is the GAA clubs intention to apply for Sports Capital Grant funding assistance to assist with the provision of a large, enclosed and lighted Astro Pitch Facility located at the hurling wall at Crecora Manister GAA pitch.
Such a facility would be a huge resource and provide all year round training facilities for our players and coaches.
Such a project will require the Club to demonstrate, as part of the grant application process, the level of “own funding” that can be put towards the project to ensure its delivery.
The Club is suggesting a contribution of €300 from each GAA and Camogie Club family, which would enable us to complete the Astro Facility if grant aid is approved for this project.
We understand that it will not be financially possible for every family to contribute €300 and stress that this is a suggested amount only.
The Sports Capital Grant application deadline is the end of February so in order to give it the best chance of success, we are asking Club families for their contribution ON OR BEFORE Friday 26th February, 2021 if at all possible.
Please note that ALL funds raised will be used for improvements to facilities at the pitch for use by GAA and Camogie Clubs, and funds generated will not be used for any other purpose.
To contribute, please lodge directly to our Development Fund Account with Bank of Ireland:

COMMUNITY WALKING TRACK:
It is hoped to start work on the Community Walking Track project in April, hopefully when Covid restrictions are relaxed somewhat, and our funding target has been reached for the works to commence.
This will be a great resource available to not just members of the GAA and Camogie Clubs, but to all in the surrounding community.

ALL STARS:
Congratulations to the nine Limerick hurlers who picked up a record-equalling total of All Star awards last Saturday night. Congratulations also to Gearóid Hegarty who was named Hurler of the Year. What a fitting way to cap off a fantastic 12 months for this team.
