U13 Hurling
The U13 hurlers took to the field last Sunday morning in damp conditions in Killeedy. Right from the start, our lads laid down a marker and it was clear to see that they meant business. Kileedy tried hard to break down our defence early, but our solid full back, Morgan O’Shea flanked by the Murnane brothers, Eoin and Cormac, were not for breaking. John Riordan at centre back was outstanding as were his hardworking half backs, Corey O’ Rourke and Shane Tobin. Our midfielders Cian Reale and Daniel O’ Donoghue were willing runners and delivered some great ball while chipping in with some long range points themselves. Our half forward line made up of Ciaran Hennessey, Jamie McNamara and Mikey Kelleher, got in with some great blocks and made life hard for the defenders while getting on the score board with some great scores that Gearoid Hegarty would be proud of! With 7 goals and 7 points on the score board, needless to say our full forward line of Shane Ryan, Conor Shanahan and Charlie Taylor were hurling out of their skins and a constant threat in around the goal mouth. Good, accurate puck outs from Shane Cusack in goal were a great platform for our attacks. The score of the game came from our youngest player of the day, Ciaran Hennessey out on the wing, some point!! Well done all!
