Sponsorship:
Ballybrown GAA Club are delighted to announce our new Senior Club Sponsor for 2023 ATG Properties .We would like to thank Owen O’Sullivan for his support for 2023. We
were particularly happy to welcome some young members of the Ukrainian community who came down to help us with the launch.
Condolences:
Ballybrown GAA Club is sad to hear of the passing of Ger O’Reilly (Tuffin). We would like to sympathise with his daughter Amy, her mother Mary, his brother Billy and all the extended family. Ger was the second of six sons to the late Paddy ( Sonny) and Margaret O’ Reilly of Ferrybridge. All six played hurling for Ballybrown with much success. Paddy their father was very active within the club. Ger was very involved as a player in what can be called the glory days in Ballybrown hurling. Ger was left corner back in the 1987 county senior hurling final, played in Kilmallock versus Patrickswell which we narrowly lost. Two years later and Ger was still at number 4 when Ballybrown beat Doon in the 1989 senior county final. The club went on to win the Munster title versus Sixmilebridge in November 1989. Our two corner backs from earlier matches,Ger and Joe Kiely were out because of injury for that Munster Final. As years went on, Ballybrown won another senior county title in 1991. Ger was in and out of the team, as there was plenty of competition for places. In several big matches, Ger was named in the first couple of subs positions and he usually came on. He was a very popular member of the club, and was hugely committed to the clubs success. As Ger did not live in Clarina for a number of years and many of the younger club members would not have known him, be assured Ger was hugely popular, much loved and well respected, by all who played with and against him.
Ger you gave us great memories and we will not forget you. It was our pleasure to have known you.
