Well done to the U7s who participated in their 2nd blitz last Saturday morning in Knockaderry. Training continues Friday nights at @ 6.30pm
U8/U10 Girls
Well done to our U8’s and u10’s who played Gerald Griffins in Athea last Wednesday evening . This was a great display by both teams.
U17 Boys
Athea 6-13 Caherconlish 2-07
The U17s had a big win away to Caherconlish on Wednesday last. Another great team performance.
Team – Thomas Ahern, Rory Mahony, Connor Mullane, James Lee, Gearoid O Sullivan, Calum Buckley, Darragh Reidy, Evan Curry, James Hunt, James Broderick, Donnacha Barrett, Cillian O Connor, Michael Walsh, Tadhg Ahern and Ciaran Hunt.
Junior B Mens
Athea 0-11 Feenagh Kilmeedy 1-14
After a good team performance , Athea lost out to a strong Feenagh Kilmeedy side on Wednesday night last in the West Junior A League Final. It has been a number of years since a Junior B team from the parish has reached a final, so the boys and background team must be commended for their efforts in the Maroon & White.
Junior A Mens
Athea 3 -10 Monagea 0-13
We were delighted to return to Athea on Thursday night last with some silverware, winning the West Intermediate League Final against Monagea. The goals came at the right time, making a huge difference to the game. It was a fantastic team performance, with Athea supporting and communicating well with each other throughout the game. Captain Dylan Griffin accepted the cup on behalf of the team, thanking coaches and background team Eamon McElligott, Roger Ryan, Mike Ahern & Patricia Lynch. Athea will now advance to the county semi final vs Kilteely Dromkeen in Askeaton @7.30pm on Tuesday July 20th. Tickets for sale priced @€10.
