Athea GAA Club Notes:

Athea GAA AGM:
There was a great turn out for our AGM on Sunday evening at Con Colbert Hall. A run down of activities was provided by Club Secretary Margaret O’Connor, thanking everyone for their support in fulfilling her role during the year whilst also congratulating the teams and management on their various successes. Treasurer Mary Ellen Quille provided a detailed breakdown of the Accounts for the year. With expenditure totalling €259,797 for the 13 month period, it was noted as one of the busiest years to date with regards to expenditure in the Club. Thankfully, the group were successful in securing a number of grants during the year, and organising a number of fundraisers which were well supported. It was reported the balance of the loan had now reduced to just over €37,000. Chairman John Hunt, thanked everyone who attended, and acknowledged the contribution of his fellow executive officers towards the running of the club. Tribute was also paid to the members of the Club who played at County level during the year. There were no changes to the Officers at the top table for 2024. Jacqueline Murray McCarthy and Michelle Cahill Hayes were welcomed as Children Officers, and Helen Brosnan Hayes was elected as Healthy Club Officer.
