U17 County semi-final – TBD
Under 9 and Under 10 Parish League Finals
The curtain came down on our 2022 Coiste na nOg season on Friday evening with the U9 and U11 football finals. 48 players took part in the U9 and U11 finals with over 50 players playing in the Nursery and U7 games the week previously. The large attendance on Friday evening were treated to two fantastic games of football with Athea Maroon captained by Conor Hayes winning the U9 final and Athea White captained by Eoin Ahern winning the U11 final. Thanks to Derek Byrne and John Hunt for referring both finals and all who helped on the night. We hope all our coaches enjoy their much deserved winter break and are already looking forward to the return of Friday night football in 2023. If anybody would like to help out in anyway as a Coach or Volunteer in 2023 please do not hesitate to contact anyone of the Coaches or Committee, no experience necessary, full training provided! Finally a huge thanks to the parent, grandparents, guardians, relations, etc. who continually bring their kids, to training, matches, blitzes, etc with some parents often attending multiple games on the same day! Coiste na nOg fully appreciate the effort involved and thanks to this commitment our underage continues to thrive and the numbers playing underage football for the club continues to increase.
U12 girls team
Well done to our U12 team who played their final game of season V Gerald Griffins last Tuesday night. They had a great year, with huge improvements in their core skills.
Thanks to Gerald Griffins for hosting us and for the great competitive games this year.
Peil fe 15
Cluiche leath cheannis an Chontae.
Shannon Gaels Athea 0-9 Oola 3-7
The teams finished with 10 scores to 9 but 3 of Oola’s scores were goals, which proved the difference. There was a strong wind and rain, which made it difficult for the players, but they battled bravely to the end.
Beidh la eile againn.
Peil fe 17
The U17 footballers are continuing to train in preparation for their county div 2 semifinal , but we have no date yet for the game against na piarsaigh. Some of the players are also waiting a County Div 3 hurling semi final with Templeglantine.

We have 7 players involved with Templeglantine in the county hurling final v Kildimo Pallaskenry on Saturday at 10am in Mick Neville Park. Best of luck to all involved.
