AHANE

U21 Hurling
We started off our U21 Hurling campaign on Tuesday against Doon in UL. We started well and got some good scores from Kevin Morrissey, Mark Donnellan, Ronan Fox, Craig O’Connell and John Donohoe. Doon kept with us at every score and the sides were level on several occasions. Doon however hit the net first in the 28th minute but after a serious run through the middle from Peter O’Grady, he passed it off to Liam O’Mara who scored our first goal. Half time score Ahane 1-10 Doon 1-08. Doon started the second half better, but we kept plugging away and getting the scores. Points again from Ronan and Kevin saw us go 1-15 to 1-12 up with ten minutes to go. However, this is where things started to go wrong as Doon scored three goals in as many minutes. They added points to their goals. As the half came to an end, we were awarded a penalty after Mark Donnellan was pulled down inside the square. Ronan buried the penalty but unfortunately it was too late to make a comeback. Full time score Ahane 2-16 Doon 4-19.

Our U10’s played in the Annual Tommy Burtchaell tournament hosted by Na Piarsaigh on Saturday. We put in a great performance and won all our group games and then our final against Na Piarsaigh. Thanks to Na Piarsaigh for having us and to Justin Murray of Joe’s Takeaway in Cluaghaun for sponsorship of a meal after the match to celebrate!
