Congrats to our Minor footballers and management team as they beat South Liberties/Crecora-Manister in the 2020 Minor A Championship final in Bruff on Friday evening on a scoreline of 1-9 to 0-9. A superb Diarmaid Hartnett-Browne goal with three minutes to go sealed the win for Adare.
Our Adare Carpet and Upholstery Cleaning u/15 hurlers had put in huge effort at training prior to their championship opener against Patrickswell last Monday night. A dogged performance by the U15s in Kilcornan was not enough to gain the win but their fighting spirit that kept going to the very end ensures that a win for this team is only around the corner.
Adare Pharmacy u/13 hurlers made their first appearance in this year’s championship on Thursday evening. This was the boys first match since they returned to play and mother nature was not doing the players or their supporters any favours as the heavens opened for their encounter against Monaleen. They say goals win matches and unfortunately it was Monaleen that scored some early opportunistic goals to swing the tie but an incredible second half performance and Adare scoring the best goal of the evening ensures Adare left the field knowing the potential of this team will soon be realised.
Our Londis Adare u/9 footballers had their first blitz of the year against Fr Caseys Friday night. The 28 boys were raring for road after working hard at training since their return to play. There was some superb skills and teamwork on show. Most importantly the boys really enjoyed it and are looking forward to their next blitz.
Huge well done to a very energetic bunch of Nautic Construction Limited u/7 Hurlers who took part in their first Hurling blitz against Askeaton last weekend. The boys put their heart and souls into the games and were excellent throughout. They have been working hard on their skills in training and it paid off in the blitz. They are a great bunch of boys and they are already looking forward to their next matches.
Thanks to all the coaches for what proved to be a very active week and to our sponsors who we would be lost without. Thanks to the parents and guardians who get the boys to training and matches every week, we know it’s not easy managing it all and Adare Bord na nÓg really appreciate it.
We have a number of underage teams in action this week and we wish them all the very best of luck.
