Co U15 Hurling Final:
It was heartbreak for the U15 hurlers and their team mates from Kilteely/Dromkeen who lost out by a single point after extra time to a fine Dromcollogher/Broadford side last Sunday morning in Rathkeale. In Splendid October sunshine this was a fine game of hurling with both showing great skill and determination. After a sluggish start we got to grips with the game and were on par with our opponents until a fortuitous goal by Drom had them ahead at the break 1-5 to 1-2. The second half proved an exciting affair after we reduced the deficit, but Drom again got another goal and looked comfortable in the third quarter. The boys showed great determination and clawed their way back into contention with a goal and point to level matters in full time to 2-7 each. Extra time was to be played to get a winner on the day, The western side just edged it, scoring three points to our two and take the division 3 cup by 2-10 to 2-9. It was a cruel way to finish maybe, but full credit to both teams for serving up a fine hour of hurling.
