MUNGRET ST. PAUL’S

LIMERICK PLAYERS
Well done to the Limerick Footballers in the Munster Final unfortunately it was not their day. Our own Killian Ryan was well supported with Mungret St. Pauls players.
Best of Luck to Louis Dee and Niall Mulcahy who are on the Kerry hurling panel who play in the final of the Joe Mc Donagh Cup against Antrim on Saturday June 4 in Croke Park at 4.30pm.
On Saturday 4 June at 12pm the U-17 Limerick Sarsfield hurlers take on North Cork in the Corn John Scott Final in the TUS Gaelic Grounds, best of Luck to all the players, especially our own Mark O’Brien and Robert O’Brien.
Best of Luck to the Limerick Hurlers in the Munster Final against Clare on Sunday 5 June, especially our own Rory Duff who is part of the panel.
Well done to Aine Coughlan (Management), Niamh Stackpoole, Molly O Mahony, Caoimhe Hennessy, Anna Coughlan and Anna Nealon and the Limerick u14 Football Team on their recent visit to Limerick City and County Council Offices, where they were recognised for their fantastic efforts during the year. Senior: We had Ailbhe Larkin and Aoife Morrissey out this week in the Senior Championship opening fixture v current champions Galway in Pearse Stadium. The Shannonsiders put on a great battle, however, things didn’t go there way, with them coming away with a loss. Well done girl, ye go again.
Junior: Limerick camogie’s second team took on last season’s runners-up Armagh in the opening round of the All-Ireland junior camogie championship on Saturday in Bruff with our very own Jenny Ryan Captaining the team which also included Olivia Kerins on the panel. It was a tough day at the office, with disappointment at full time with Armagh having a strong win.
U16s: Well done to the Limerick Camogie U16 teams who took on Galway and Kerry camogie on Saturday 21st May in their U16 Blitz. Our very own Cliona Byrne wore the green jersey on the day! Some fantastic skills on display & lots of happy faces! The future is bright!
Well done to Rory Glesson, Killian Begley and Oisin Donnelly who played on the Limerick U14 hurling team beating Wexford Saturday 21 May 2022.
Congratulations to the Limerick U15 Hurlers on their 2-20 to 1-19 win over Cork Saturday 21 May 2022. We are delighted to have Conor Crowley guarding goals for Limerick.
REALTAI ALL STARS
It was a perfect morning for our second Realtaí training session for children with additional needs. It was a great turn out of coaches and helpers to help each of the children that attended have an enjoyable training session. Thank you to all who attended.
U8 Camogie Blitz:
On Thursday night our U8s welcomed our friends Monaleen Camogie to the buzzing #MSPCamogie HQ for a highly anticipated blitz! Such great talent across the board and well done to each and every player – ye are doing wonderful stuff! Thanks to all coaches too!
U-8 FOOTBALL
U8 football blitz Vs Na Piarsaigh. On a lovely Monday evening, 23 May 2022 in the run up to the Munster football final the U8s took on Na Piarsaigh on their new pitches. 4 teams of 7 played extremely well and the skills and team work really came out. Well done to all players and mentors.
JUNIOR FOOTBALL
Mungret St. Pauls 6-6 Kilteely Dromkeen 1-9
It was a dry but chilly evening in Caherconlish on Monday 23 May 2022 when our Junior footballers took on Kilteely Dromkeen in the Semi Final. It was an even game at the start with the goals being scored near the end to win and go through to the County Intermediate League Final.
INTERMEDIATE FOOTBALL
Mungret St. Pauls 0-7 Claughaun 1-12
It was a cool evening in Caherdavin on Tuesday 24 May 2022 when our Limerick Motor Centre sponsored Intermediate footballers played Claughaun in the County Senior Semi Final. Claughaun had a slight edge from the start, keeping at least a one point lead for the first half with the score 0-6 to 0-4 by the break.
Claughaun keep the pressure on in the second half and an early goal for them kept Mungret St. Pauls trailing. Mungret St. Pauls added on another three points but were unable to score anything in the final quarter of the match. Claughaun go through to the Final while Mungret St. Pauls prepare for the Championship which starts at the end of June.
JUNIOR HURLING
On Wednesday 25 May 2022 in Cappamore our Junior Hurlers played the last of their group matches. The result of this match would not change the position of either team in the table with Cappamore second and Mungret St. Pauls in fifth position. Our players put in a great game against a strong side but were unlucky to come out second best losing by three points. They have a break until the end of July when the championship begins.
U-13 HURLING
It was an evening of mixed fortunes for our U-13 hurlers on Thursday 26 May 2022 with our Division 2 team having lost all their matches so far and preparing to play Garryspillane who were near the top of the group, our players knew it would be a tough match but had the advantage of a home game. It was a low scoring first half but a goal in Mungret St. Pauls favour gave them a lead. The second half saw Garryspillane score more points but a second goal from Mungret St. Pauls allowed them to hold the lead and take their first win. Final score Mungret St. Pauls 2-2 Garryspillane 0-6
Our division 3 team were away to Blackrock who were also high on the group table but the Mungret St. Pauls team had two previous wins under their belt. They were behind for most of the match but this young Mungret St. Pauls team are a group of tough players who never let their heads drop through the match. They scored a goal and three points but Blackrock were the stronger team. Final score Mungret St. Pauls 1-3 Blackrock 4-8
