BALLYBRICKEN BOHERMORE GAA CLUB NOTES
U21s: The 2020 competitive year started with a win for our U21 hurlers against Knockainey in the all-county U21 championship on Saturday evening last, played in standard conditions for the time of year we won out 1-15 to 1-12 in a very competitive encounter. We are joined with Fedamore at this level and we were fast out of the blocks with Daniel Owens scoring 1-3 in the opening quarter. Jason Cross kept the score board ticking with a point from play leaving us leading by four. The match was being played with plenty physical contact and our lads battled hard in the slow conditions. Daniel Owens followed up wit a couple more scores from placed balls and we led at the break by 1-9 to 0-6, our opponents re doubled their efforts and came on strong in the second period. We struggled to get scores in the second period but a couple of frees and a Darragh Hogan point from play steadied the side, we conceded a goal in the closing minuets but managed to hold on for a narrow win. Well done to the players who worked hard and showed good discipline in trying conditions next up is Templeglantine who recorded a big win against our other group opponents Dromcollogher Broadford. Team from Thomas Moyles, Colm o Riordan, Pa Byrne, Adam MaCarthy, John Bourke, Sean Teefy, Cian Enright, Colin Haigney, Niall Mitchell, Jason Cross, Michael Martin, Darragh Hogan, Jack Cross, Daniel Owens, Hugh O Donnell, Ruairi Cahill, Lee Gavin, Aaron Hickey, Seamus Bourke.
