SOUTH GAA CONVENTION : The South GAA Annual Convention will be held on Tuesday 5th. January, it will be Virtual on Microsoft Team, all clubs have been notified and are asked to return their nomination/motion forms before this Wednesday 23rd. December.
On Sunday last .20th. December, Limerick played Tipperary in the Electric Ireland Munster Minor Hurling Championship Final in LIT Gaelic Grounds It was of course be a very strange occasion, with Covid-19 restrictions in place, with the game being played behind closed doors, although each player had a parent/guardian in attendance. It was nevertheless be a special occasion for Limerick, back in their second final in a row hoping to retain the Munster title, which they did in style, winning by 2.22 to 0.25 after extra time .
Well Done to the players and members of the Management from the Dvision who all played their part in the final, Shane O’Brien (Kilmallock), Patrick O’Donovan (Effin), Liam Dennehy (Glenroe), Séan O’Neill (Blackrock) Josh Keating (Bruff) and Patrick Finn (Bruffwhile the extended panel included Cian Scully (Dromin Athlacca Banogue), Darragh Butler (Bruff), Eoin Cleary (Knockainey), Eoin McCormack (Effin) and Sean Canning (Effin),
While the Management included Andrew O’Shaughnessy (Kilmallock), Thomas Quaid (Effin), Mike Cotter (Bruree), Paul Browne (Bruff) and Patrick Jones (Hospital Herbertstown). The team will be back in action on the weekend of 3rd. January when they play Galway in the All Ireland Semi Final at a venue to be fixed.
