LIMERICK ON A TREBLE MISSION THIS WEEKEND
This weekend will see Limerick Senior Football and Hurling teams are in action this weekend with two very important games with three results on offer, as the Munster Senior Hurling Championship game with Clare will double as the Allianz Hurling League Division 1 Final.
The footballers are first into action when on Saturday they make the long journey to play Sligo in Markievicz Park at 2pm in a vital Division Four Allianz League Football game A Limerick win would give them a place in Division Three football next year.
Semple Stadium Thurles is the venue on Sunday at 3.45pm for the Munster Senior Hurling Quarter Final game when Limerick play Clare, where they will be defending their Munster Championship title and Allianz Hurling League Title won last year. Limerick took the Munster Crown when they defeated Tipperary in the final, so Sunday will see them take the first step to retain the Provincial title and Allianz League Title after they defeated Waterford in the 2019 final.
In fact it is the first time since 1985 that Limerick go in defence of a League title, on Sunday 14th. April 1985 in Semple Stadium Thurles, Limerick defeated Clare by 3.12 to 1.07 to retain the title they won in 1984 defeating Wexford in the final.  Lets hope history can be repeated. !
The game on Sunday is live on RTE 2
