Another busy week of games, both at Division and County level, with some very important fixtures were down for decision. At Divisional level, two Round 4 games in Junior ‘B’ Football Championship were played on Tuesday evening last, with wins for Galbally over Camogue Rovers and Banogue over Galtee Gaels, in this thus Tuesday evening, Galtee travel to play Camogue Rovers and Ballylanders will host Galbally. On Saturday evening last the Quarter Finals of the Junior ‘B’ Hurling Championship were played, In Kilfinane, Bruree overcame Glenroe by 2.18 to 4.04 while Camogue defeated Hospital/Herbertstown by 0.14 to 0.09 in Kilbreedy. The Semi Pairings were drawn as follows : Bruree play Bruff on this Saturday while Blackrock play Camogue Rovers on next Monday evening . Galbally and Banogue also meet on Saturday evening in a refixed Junior ,B’ Football Championship game.
In the County Championship there were a number of teams from the Division in action in various grades. Congratulations to Bruff who won the County Minor ‘A’ Hurling Championship final on Wednesday night last, when they defeated neighbours Namh Eoin in a very exciting and well contested decider, Bruff winning by 1.16 to 0.17. On Monday night last week, Croom and Killacolla Gaels were in County Minor ‘A’ Football Championship Quarter Final action, Croom overcame Ballysteen in Mick Neville Park while Killacolla Gaels lost out to Dromcollogher /Broadford. Croom were back in action on Sunday in the Semi Final losing out to Crecora/.Manister-South Liberties in Fedamore. Both Galbally and Galbally were involved in County Senior Football championship fare. Galbally defeated Oola in the Quarter Final game played on Wednesday last to reach the Semi Final, where they met Adare in Kilmallock on Sunday and lost by 1.11 to 0.08, while Ballylanders overcame Ballysteen also on Sunday in Newcastlwest on a 1.12 to 0.09 scoreline to reach the County Final with Adare on Sunday next., while on Saturday in Kilmallock at 1pm. Gaels will play Dromcollogher in the Co Senior Football Relegation final. Last evening Monday, Garryspillane defeated Old Christians in rhe County Junior Hurling Relegation Semi Final after a penalty shot out after sides finished level after extra time 4.15 each. Galtee On this Tuesday evening, Croom will be in action in the County Junior Football Championship Semi Final where they will meet Crecora/Manister in Kilbreedy at 8pm, the winners will play in the County Final on Sunday next 4th. October in Kilmallock. Also on Sunday, Staker Wallace will play Rathkeale in the County Junior Hurling Relegation final.
