Liam MacCarthy Cup came back to Limerick in 2018 after a 45 year wait and what a way to win Liam back and the celebrations that followed.
The Co Op Superstores Munster Hurling League commenced what proved to be a very busy and successful year. On a very cold evening on Saturday 30th. December 2017, in Mallow, Limerick took the first steps to a historic year defeating Cork in the opening game the Co Op Superstores Munster Hurling League and going on to win out the Competition.
The All Ireland Final on Sunday 18th. August 2018 is a day that Limerick will never forget and indeed there were great moments on the way to the All Ireland Final.
Great Credit too to the Limerick Minor Hurlers who had a very progressive Championship campaign with a young team that showed great signs of promise.
Not to be outdone, the Ladies also won the All Ireland Junior Football Championship final in Croke Park
