Limerick GAA wish to Extend Sincere Sympathy to the families of John Hunt and Patrick (Paddy) English.
There was much sadness and regret at the news of the deaths of two great Limerick Gaels
John Hunt who died in Chicago over the weekend was a native of Athea. . One of his dreams came true last year when he made the long journey home to watch his native Limerick win the Liam McCarty Cup on Sunday 19th. August. after a 45 year wait. He was indeed looking down on the Limerick Hurlers on Sunday as they won the Allianz Hurling League and he was not forgotten in the post match presentations
Patrick (Paddy) English father of Limerick All Star Hurler Richie passed away on this Monday morning 1st. April at his home in Doon
Paddy was ever present at Club and County games over the years. He was there to support Doon and Limerick whenever he could. He was a very proud man to see his son Richie winning an All Ireland Senior Hurling medal on 19th. August last and was present for Doon’s All-Ireland heroes homecoming a few days later, and was a very proud father and Doon GAA Man that evening.
Both John and Paddy and their families are in our thoughts and prayers at this very sad time
May John and Paddy Rest in Peace
