2021 A LIMERICK REFLECTION (Part 11)

After retaining the Munster Senior Hurling Championsip when defeatinig Tipperary on Sunday 18th. July, Limerick qualified for the All Reland Semi Final which was fixed for Saturday 7th. August in Croke Park with Waterford providing the opposioion, a repeat of the All All Irelad Final in 2020. Once again Limerick proved best to score a 1.25 to 0.17 win to qualify for the All Ireland Final.

All Ireland Final Day in Croke Park : Cork were to provide the opposition in Cluiche Ceannais Sinsear Iomana na hEireann 2021, this was to be their third meeting of the year, with Limerick winning both previousa encounters, in the Allianz League and Munster Championship.

After a very exciting opening to the game with both sides scoring early goals, gradually as the first half progressed Limerick got well on top and led at the interval by 3.18 to 1.11. The second half sae the champions elect add 0.14 to thirtotal while Cork added 0.11 to see scoreboard reading at full time LUIMNEACH 3.32 CORCAIGH 1.22 giving Limerick a 16 point win and retaining the Liam MacCarthy Cup.

There was great scenes of joy amongst the Limerick Players, Management Backroom Staff and Supporters in the crowd of 40,000 (restricted due to Covid-19 restrictions) as Declan Hannon raised The Liam Mac Carthy Cup aloft in The Hogan Stand.
