UL booked their spot in the knockout stages of the 2023/24 Sigerson Cup after a 0-8 to 0-7 victory over Maynooth University on Tuesday evening.
The beaten finalists from last year’s competition followed up their win over ATU Donegal in round one with a tight win over their hosts that now sees them through.
The teams were deadlocked throughout the contest and level at 0-4 apiece with two Paul Keaney scores bringing UL level at half time.

Darragh Kirwan did make it a one-point game but a sterling defensive effort from Declan Brouder’s UL side saw them to victory.
