Traffic Management Plan for Saturdays Munster Hurling Final:

Limerick will take on Cork for the Munster Senior Hurling Final this weekend, and Gardaí have issued a traffic management plan for the day.

“First and foremost – we’re asking supporters to plan ahead, arrive in good time, and park legally. That means no parking on green areas, no blocking driveways and absolutely no illegal parking. Cars causing obstruction will be towed, and tickets will be issued,” says Sergeant Aoife Bannon from Henry Street Garda Station.

Gardaí are advising fans to use city centre car parks and walk to the stadium to avoid congestion and aid with the flow of traffic after the match.

There will also be some parking available between Coonagh Roundabout and Caherdavin Cross on the Ennis Road, and also at T.U.S. Campus on Old Cratloe Road, with gardaí advising people to get there early.

Anyone in need of disabled parking must go through the Limerick or Cork GAA Boards.

Motorists are advised of multiple road closures and diversions in effect from 2 pm onwards at the following locations:

Sarsfield Bridge: Closed to outbound traffic. Diversions at the Henry Street and Sarsfield Street junction.
Condell Road / Shelbourne Road Lower: No right turn onto Shelbourne Road.
Clancy Strand / High Road: No access to Clancy Strand from High Road.
Belfield Court / High Road: Access limited to residents only.
Stenson Park / Sexton Street North: Residents only permitted into Stenson Park.
Hassetts Cross / Shelbourne Road: No access to Shelbourne Road. Traffic diverted to Cratloe Road and Sexton Street North.
Ennis Road at Ivan’s Cross: Diversions in place to the Northern Ring Road and Clonmacken Road.
Salesian School / North Circular Road: Full road closure.
Shelbourne Road / North Circular Road at Clanmaurice Avenue: Full road closure.
Union Cross: Traffic diverted to Shelbourne Road.
Shelbourne Park / Shelbourne Road: Closed.
Shelbourne Road / Mayorstone Drive: Closed.
Cratloe Road / Mayorstone Avenue: Closed.
Cratloe Road / Mayorstone Upper: Closed.
Cratloe Road / Mayorstone Upper & TUS Roundabout (Merval Park): Closed.
Ennis Road / Derravarragh Road: Access restricted to local residents only.

Signs will be displayed and Gardaí will be on hand to guide motorists.

Following the final whistle of the game, there will be two outbound lanes on the Ennis Road from Caherdavin Cross to Coonagh Roundabout, and all outbound traffic on Ennis Rd will be sent via the R445 onto the N18, using Exit 5 towards the Limerick Tunnel.

Condell Road will be closed inbound, and other roads like Cratloe Road will be managed to keep the flow moving.

Inbound traffic into the city will have to use Sarsfield Bridge or Thomond Bridge.
