This weekend last year saw the opening Rounds of the Munster Senior Hurling & Football Championships 2019 as well as the Minor Hurling Championship get underway.
Limerick Hurlers had a bye in the Hurling Championship, so it fell to to the Footballers to get the Championship underway, and on this date 11th. May they made the journey to Semple Stadium on a very fine Saturday evening to play a fancied Tipperary team in the Quarter Final game.which had a 7pm throw in, the curtain raiser at 5pm was the meeting of the same Counties in the Ladies Munster Football Championship. As the teams entered the fray in the Senior game, hopes in the Limerick camp were high and as the sides battled out the first half exchanges they were level 0.08 each at the interval. The second half saw the visitors up their game and with ten minutes of the game remaining, after scoring some fine goals, they were dominant and ran out 3.11 to 1.10 winners after a very fine performance.
