ST PATRICK’S GAA CLUB NOTES

Junior A Hurling
It was a tough defeat to take for our Junior hurling team when losing to Caherline in the County Junior A Hurling Semi Final. St Patrick’s were leading by six points at the final water break, but Caherline were to find a new gear to turn the game on its head and break St Patrick’s hearts. It was no doubt a bitter pill to swallow, but in sport you learn from the good days and bad, wins and losses and no doubt this defeat will be one to spur this team on in next year’s Championship. A big thank you to the management team, players and all those who gave their time to St Patrick’s this year.
U13 Regional Blitz:
Well done to St Patrick’s Jake Ryan, Kieran Walsh and Josh Campbell who took part in the U13 Regional football and hurling Blitz, organised by Limerick GAA Coaching and Games, that took place in Mick Neville Park Rathkeale.
Dad’s and Lads:
The St Patrick’s Dads and Lads team travelled to West Limerick on Sunday to take part in the first ever regional Munster Blitz. On a glorious Autumn day the St Patrick’s Dads and Lads played teams from Cork, Tipperary and Limerick in a highly enjoyable blitz hosted by Kileedy Gaa Club. This is a really positive initiative by Croke Park to encourage players back to clubs and to be active.
U21 Hurling & Football:
St Patrick’s U21 hurling team bowed out of the championship with defeat away to Askeaton on Sunday last. It was certainly very much a positive to field a St Patrick’s team at this grade and there is a bright future ahead for many of this panel.
Our U21 footballers will begin their campaign next weekend in a group with Ahane, Granagh/ Ballingarry and Belville Gaels.
Friday Night Lights:
The fantastic Friday Nights Hurling continued last Friday and was a huge success once again. A brilliant night under the lights for the U5s, 7s, 9s and 11s while the parents could enjoy a hot chocolate or coffee from our ” Little Saints” Coffee shop.
Friday Nights Hurling is every Friday from 6pm in Rhebogue- come along and join in the fun.
Girls Football:
Well done to all the girls who took part in the recent County U14 trial and represented the club so well. Best wishes to Megan Reidy & Emma Doherty who have progressed to the next stage.
