ST PATRICK’S GAA CLUB NOTES

County Junior A Hurling Round 5
St Patrick’s 1 17 Kilteely/Dromkeen 1 12
The Junior hurling team qualified for the County Quarter Final following a well merited win in Cappamore on Sunday. St Patrick’s led from as early as the first minute with a superb score from Diarmuid Hegarty and never relinquished the lead throughout. The game was as expected keenly contested with both sides knowing a win was a must, the key score came midway through the first half when a long range Gearoid Hegarty free found its way to the Kilteely net. A crucial win in a winner takes all contest and one that can give this team great confidence going forward, a County Quarter Final against Mungret next Saturday in Clarina at 3.30pm is the next hurdle and another very tough battle lies ahead, against a side who topped group one with relative ease.
