ST. PATRICK’S GAA CLUB NOTES

Limerick Senior Hurling:
Huge well done to Gearoid Hegarty and the Limerick Senior hurling team, who have qualified for their third All Ireland Final in four years with a powerful display over Waterford on Sunday at Croke Park.
It was a joy to see Limerick fans and St Patrick’s club members back in Croke Park, with restrictions gradually easing, the final will have an increased capacity of 40,000.
The Limerick team continue to represent our county so proudly and it is a huge honour to have a clubman in Gearoid to the fore, we ask that you show your support by displaying your green and white colours across the parish ahead of the final on Sunday August 22.
Munster Minor Football Final:
Best wishes to Shane Cross, who has been named on the Limerick Minor Football panel for the Munster Final tie against Cork on Wednesday night. Well done Shane we are very proud.
It will be Limericks first Munster Final appearance in 23 years.
Limericks sole football win at this grade in 1956 had a very strong St Patrick’s link. The club had four members on the panel, Charlie Quaid, Gerry Phelan and Paddy Kearney started the final with Paddy McMahon also playing. Fr Mcnamee was part of the management team and the great Eric Ryan was Coach/Selector.
