ST PATRICK’S GAA CLUB NOTES
Munster Hurling Winners:
Huge Congratulations to Gearoid Hegarty who won the Munster senior hurling final on Sunday against Tipperary, and to Diarmuid Hegarty and Sean Mortell who won the Munster minor final against Clare.
A real proud day for St Patrick’s people to see three club men win Munster medals in the Gaelic Grounds on a great day for everyone in the county. Both teams will now progress direct to the All Ireland Semi Final on the weekend of July 27 and 28.
St Patrick’s U14 Hurling team completed their campaign on Wednesday night. Well done to the panel of players and management. The team played seven championship games and with a very young panel have broadened the numbers with this age group and also in the younger groups, while developing the hurling skills of each player with every passing game.
U8 /10 Hurling & Football:
Both teams had blitzs and challenges in both codes in the last week with good numbers in attendance again.
Two games in the county league this week with a mixed bag of results. A very good first half followed by a very poor second half saw the team lose out by four points to Claughaun at Childers Rd on Tuesday night, but this could be a timely wake up call. On Saturday evening we welcomed Galtee Gaels to Rhebogue and this time the team bounced back. A young panel took the field for this game and there was much improved work rate for the full sixty minutes. St Patrick’s won 1 11 to 0 09 in the end.
Our U14 girls travelled to Clonlara for a challenge game against East Clare Gaels. Well done to all the girls who performed so well in very hot conditions. Although it was a lovely evening for the spectators to enjoy some fantastic football.
Club Limerick Draw:
David Purcell was a winner of €100 in this months draw, continuing our good strike rate.
St Patrick’s Gaa Kellogg’s Cúl Camp will be run this year from Aug 12th to Aug 16th and is opened online to book now.
