St. Kierans GAA Club Notes:
Munster Club Junior ‘B’ Football Championship Semi-Final:
St. Kierans vs Goleen (Cork)
This Sunday afternoon our Junior footballers make the journey to south Limerick to face off against Cork Champions Goleen with a place in the Munster club final the prize on offer for the victorious side. While our journey to Ballyagran may be shorter than our west Cork opponents. Its 154km from Goleen to Ballyagran our journey to this point has seen us play ten championship games to date en route to West and County Championship honours. The West Cork side also enjoyed divisional championship success in 2024 comprehensively overcoming the challenge of Clann na Gael in the Carbery decider, 2.13 to 0.6 before defeating Ballyphehane in the County Championship Final, 0.11 to 0.9. This was the west Cork side’s third county final appearance in five years having lost the 2021 and 2019 deciders. We can draw confidence having overcome the tough physical challenge of Waterford Champions Roanmore in the quarterfinals, but we are under no illusions that we face a huge step up in opposition on Sunday afternoon against a Goleen side who have been in the business end of their respective championships over the past few seasons. Sundays encounter promises to be a highly entertaining encounter as we look to secure our place in a third Munster Club final in the clubs history. Sunday’s game throws in at 2pm in Ballyagran. Your support is greatly appreciated by all concerned. We will have live score updates throughout on our social medial channels and WhatsApp match updates group.
