St. Kierans GAA Club Notes:

County Junior ‘B’ Football Championship Semi-Final:
Following two hard earned victories over Knockaderry in the West Final and Knockane in the Quarter finals we return to action following a three week break for the County Championship Semi-Final this weekend. At the time of writing, we await the winners of the quarter final encounter between South Champions Bruree and city side Ballinacurra Gaels which was due to take place last night. In our last two championship outings we put in encouraging performances in challenging playing conditions, and we will undoubtedly have to raise our standards once again this weekend if we are to go one step further this season and advance to the county final following the disappointment of the defeat at the penultimate stage last season to Ballylanders in Cappamore. Our potential opponents will have the added advantage of having a game under their belts this week in advance of the semi-final and either side will no doubt be a difficult opponent. The city side have had little problem finding the back of the net this season scoring 19 goals throughout the group stage of the City Championship before succumbing to the challenge of Mungret / St. Pauls side in the divisional final. Bruree will be buoyed from their County Intermediate Hurling Championship Semi-Final victory over Murroe-Boher on Saturday afternoon and looking to advance to the football decider also. They had a comprehensive victory over Galtee Gaels in the South Limerick decider and will undoubtedly be difficult opponents if they advance to this weekends Semi-Final. Once we have final fixture details, we will update all club members through our social media channels and WhatsApp match updates group.
Vintage/Tractor Run:
Many thanks to all those who participated in and gave up their time to volunteer at our 2024 Vintage Car and Tractor Run on Sunday afternoon. It was great to see such a large crowd in attendance. Your continued support is greatly appreciated.
