West Junior ‘B’ Football Championship Round 3:
St. Kieran’s 4.13 Drom/Broadford 1.8
Goals from Oisin Ryan, Luke Corrigan, Bryan Sheehan and Tom McMahon were the catalyst as the Junior footballers got their second win of their championship campaign this past week with a comprehensive victory over Drom/Broadford. There was a noticeable improvement in performance following the round 2 game against Knockaderry when there was no separating the two sides. On the night we failed to take several goal chances which could have proved decisive but, on this occasion, we showed great potency in front of goal. Well done to the players and management team on the excellent performance which ensures that we advance for the knockout stages of the championship. Next up we play Glin tomorrow evening in round 4.
Team vs Drom/Broadford:
Con Enright, Ian Mackessy, John O’ Connor, Michael Murphy, Michael Upton (0.1), Shane Lynch, Tom McMahon, Donie Nolan (0.2), Jack O’ Sullivan, Cathal McEnery (0.3), Jack Harnett (0.1), Ray Cahill (0.1), Luke Corrigan (1.0), Oisin Ryan (1.3), Anthony Molyneaux (0.1), Dan Duggan, Bryan Sheahan (1.0), Cathal Daly (0.1), Josh Daly.

County Minor ‘A’ Football Championship Round 3:
St. Kieran’s 0.10 Adare 3.9
A strong second half performance in which we were outscored 1.7 to 0.3 saw the home side emerge with the victory on Wednesday evening last. The first half was evenly contested. We played some good passages of football in the opening half kicking several points. We held the advantage for much of the opening period before a late goal on the stroke of half time saw Adare take a one-point lead at the interval. 2.2 to 0.7. As the second half progressed, we found it difficult to deal with the lively Adare forward unit who were threatening throughout and punished several mistakes on our part. At the final whistle the home side came away with an eight-point win to secure their second win of the campaign. Next up we play Drom / Broadford in round 4 where victory is vital if we are to progress to the knockout stages.
