Intercounty Activity:
Limerick senior footballers made it two wins from two this past Saturday when they secured an excellent away victory in Corrigan Park, Belfast against Antrim. Both sides went into the game with impressive opening round victories over Longford and Fermanagh respectively. On their home patch Antrim would have undoubtedly fancied their chances to take the two points but two early first half goals set Limerick on their way to victory and ar now in an excellent position to consolidate their division 3 status and push on and challenge for promotion. Darragh Treacy once again lined out at midfield and put in another strong performance while Liam Kennedy was among the substitutes. Next up for Limerick is a home tie against Louth in two weeks’ time.
Sigerson Cup:
John Hayes and Michael Shanahan are part of the UL and MTU Tralee squads who take part in the Sigerson Cup semi finals which take place this week. On Thursday evening MTU, Tralee entertain NUIG in Mick Neville Park, Rathkeale at 6pm while UL travel to Dr. Cullen Park, Carlow where they face DCU in the second semi final at 7.30. Both games will be streamed on YouTube on the Electric Ireland page.
