South Liberties GAA Club Notes:
Annual Legends Golf Classic:
Our yearly Legends Golf Classic took place last Friday June 23rd in Ballyneety Golf Club, and an amazing day and night was had by one and all. John Leamy, helped by his backroom team, had an abundance of Legends partake, with 56 teams teeing off all day. At 3.30pm, John had organised a commerative Jubilee dinner for our heroes of ’73 and the Liberties trio of Eamon Grimes, Pat Hartigan and Joe Mc Kenna were presented with a caracature, designed by Hughie Glynn. Marty Morrissey was compere on the night and we were honoured to have John Fogarty, Dan Quirke, Darragh Moloney, Niall Quinn and Pete Finnerty as our speaking panel, followed by the entertaining Elvis. Congratulations to all our winners on the day and huge thanks to the numerous sponsors of our event STL, Great National South Court Hotel, BDO, Beacon Hospital Limerick, our Par 3’s, longest drive, nearest the pin and Tee Boxes.
2023 Jack Leahy Cup:
Well done to all our players from our three local schools, who participated in the Jack Leahy Cup recently, with Roxboro NS being this years winners.
Club Limerick Draw:
Congratulations to Brian Hourigan who won €500 and Pat Sheahan who won the voucher for garden furniture, in last Saturdays Club Limerick Draw. You can still join for the rest of this year by logging onto our website or the Club Limerick Draw website.
Parish Lotto:
Our local lotto still hasnt been won and is now heading for €5300. Get your ticket online or in any of the local public premises.
All Ireland Hurling Semi Final Ticket Requests:
Any fully paid up club member must request their tickets online on our Facebook page or for anyone not online please contact any committee member as soon as possible. Limerick will play Galway on Saturday July 8th in Croke Park at 6pm.
Underage:
Our underage players continue to be busy each week at all ages and grades with matches and blitzes every week. Well done everyone and keep up the good work.
