SOUTH LIBERTIES GAA CLUB NOTES
U14 Hurling
Our U14 hurlers were out first over the weekend playing in the Feile round robin series on Saturday. We faced two teams playing in the division above us in the championship. First up we played Kilpeacon a combination of Crecora/Fedamore/Ballybricken. This was a close game between two evenly matched sides with the strong breeze influencing the game. We had a slender lead at the break 0-3 to 0-2 but kicked on in the second half to record a good win on a score line of 0-7 to 0-2.
Our second match however was a different affair when we were up against a very strong Bruff side who won comfortably in the end but credit to the lads who never dropped their heads and fought till the end of the game. You’d have to wonder why a team as strong as this is playing in the Feile B competition when they would definitely be good enough for the Feile A.
Back to championship hurling for our U14’s with a home game against Pallasgreen on Wednesday 17th April.
Senior Hurling
Our senior hurlers went down to a very strong Na Piarsaigh side on Sunday afternoon (see local press for match report) in our first game in group A of the senior championship. No time to dwell on this game as we have Adare up next on Saturday April 20th at 2.15pm in Bruff.
