4. UNDERAGE ACADEMY
Our Underage Academy finished up for 2020 on Friday December 18th. It was a huge success with 210 underage members partaking. It is notable here that the number of players has doubled on the previous years’ academy and is just reward for the organisation and voluntary work of both the committee and the 52 coaches over the six weeks period.
On this night the children were presented with their “Personalised South Liberties Crested Water Bottles” which were subsidised from the proceeds of our coffee shop which is always open on these nights.
The highlight though, was a visit from our club representatives on the Limerick All Ireland winning 2020 Hurling Team – Barry Nash and Brian Ryan. Congratulations to both these men on a huge achievement and also now to Barry on his nomination for an All Star, following his outstanding performances all year as corner back.
The academy will return as soon as restrictions allow.
5. CONDOLENCES
The Club wishes to express its sincere condolences to all the families connected to South Liberties and our surrounding parishes who have lost a loved one in recent weeks.
