SOUTH LIBERTIES CLUB NOTES
CLUB 5K FUNDRAISER INCORPORATING MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS IN YOUNG PEOPLE
Our fundraiser is less than a week away now. Please note this initiative, by Cronan Garry, for Mental Health Awareness in Young People, which is so predominant now due to what Covid-19 and its related restrictions has done to our normal way of life, is to the forefront of everyone all over the world now. Sporting activity is a powerful medicine for many common Mental Health challenges and physical exercise can have a profound positive impact on anyone struggling internally with their mental state.
We have co-ordinated some amazing encouraging videos that have been going out on our Social Media sites the last few days with many more to come.
Club men and Limerick Senior hurling stars Barry Nash and Brian Ryan have some inspiring videos broadcast now, along with our Parish Priest Fr. Tom Mangan, Brian Foley, Diarmuid Kelly, Shane O Neill and new club member Barry Cooney.
One very inspiring one came in from Sinead Shanahan of Nead na nÓg Preschool, based in Dooley Park, proving the kid’s excitement and jubilation of running out onto a pitch amidst shouts of sheer joy.
Please have a look at these videos and so many more that will crop up all week showing various people pucking a ball while stating the Motto “Be Kind to your Mind and Puck it out there”.
You can register now through our website, click on the SHOP NOW button on top of our Facebook page or click on the bit.ly/SouthLibs on our Instagram Bio.
So, please get the family out walking/running/cycling and do your 5K, send us in some pics on Facebook/Instagram and show your support for your club and Jigsaw (Donation will be made to this organisation at the end of the fundraiser/Campaign.

We were shocked to hear lately that our club mate Ryan Garry took ill across the Atlantic in Boston.
Ryan underwent surgery last week but thankfully it all went well.
