SOUTH LIBERTIES CLUB NOTES

Underage:

Our U13 boys continue to do well in the hurling. They played Claughaun last Thursday night and came home with another brilliant win. This puts them second in their group and into a semi-final. Well done again boys and Mentors. They play Monaleen this Thursday in the football.

Feile:

Our Feile boys had 1 win and 1 lose last week. They lost to Ahane who eventually went on to win the County Final. Well done boys.

LIMERICK GAA

The best news we have this week is that we are back to back All Ireland Hurling Champions. Three Wins in Four years is the stuff of dreams for many of us. With a resounding win over Cork on a score line of 3-32 to 1-22, the slight worries and doubts were certainly put to bed. Our own Barry Nash played outstanding once again and got a beautiful point despite his corner back position. And the icing on the cake for us was Barry getting on The Sunday Game Team of the Year and sure why not? This man has played in a forward position for Limerick in the past, but this year he marked his corner in every single game and is now getting acclaim for his prowess and deservedly so. We are such a proud club to have this man amongst us along with so many other South Liberties players of the past and hopefully our younger lads will strive to achieve success with Club and possibly County.

Congratulations to Mr John Kiely, his management team, the Limerick County Board and all the Panel for their momentous win and bringing joy to every that supports the Green and White of Limerick.

We can now look forward to the Club Championship and let’s hope the Liberties Boys can achieve success.
