On Saturday last 15th. May, Limerick Senior Footballers played Tipperary in the opening Round of Allianz Football League Division 3 South in LIT Gaelic Grounds , where the home side scored a well merited win on a score line of 1.13 to 014 in a very well contested game where the visitors were the early pacesetters and led at the interval by 0.06 to 0.04. Limerick put in a very good second half display, outscoring Tipperary by 1.09 to 0.08 to secure the win and League points on offer, well done to all involved with special mention to players from South Division., Robert and Tommie Childs (Galtee Gaels) with Michael O’Donovan (Galbally) who all contributed to the victory.
On Sunday Limerick Senior Hurlers made the Journey to Salthill to play Galway in Pearse Stadium in Round Two, Division 1A Allianz Hurling League where the home side scored a 0.26 to 1.17 win in a game that they led from start to finish, Nickie Quaid (Effin), Aaron Costello (Kilmallock) and David Reidy (Dromin-Athlacca) lined out while Barry Hennessy, Robbie Hanley (both Kilmallock), Mark Quinaln (Garryspillane) and Sean Finn (Bruff) were on the substitutes bench.
Both the Senior Footballers and Hurlers are back in Allianz League Action this weekend, on Saturday afternoon the Footballers play Offaly in Bord na Mona O’Connor Park Tullamore at 3pm in Round 2 Division 3 South. Both sides scored home wins last weekend, Offaly defeating Offaly in Aughrim while Limerick defeated Tipperary, So it will all to play for on Saturday with the winners almost guaranteed a Semi Final place. On Sunday the Senior Hurlers make the journey to Walsh Park Waterford to play the home side in Round Three Division 1A Allianz Hurling League at 3.45pm (Live on TG4), a repeat of the 2020 Munster and All Ireland Finals, lets hope Limerick can secure a win on Sunday to remain League contention..
