Another busy weekend of County Hurling Championship games with 24 in all were down for decision last weekend with some very important games involving South teams, in 11 games including two local derbies.
Blackrock defeated Monaleen in the Bons Secours Senior Hurling Cup Final to lift the P S O’Riain Cup while both Bruff and Glenroe lost out to Kildimo/Pallaskenry and Mungter St Paul’s respectively in the Semi Finals of Lyons of Limerick County Premier Intermediate Hurling Championship Semi Finals, neighbours Dromin Athlacca and Bruree met in the Premier Intermediate Hurling Championship Relegation Final, which saw Dromin/Athlacca retain their for 2021 while Bruree will operate in the County Intermediate Hurling Championship in 2021. In the Nick Grene Sportsground County Intermediate Hurling Championship Quarter Finals there was mixed fortune s for the South teams, Croom overcame Kilmallock, while Hospital/Herbertstown lost to Na Piarsaigh while Effin defeated Granagh/Ballingarry to retain their status in the County Intermediate Championship for 2021
In the Woodlands House Hotel Junior ‘A’ Hurling Championship Round 4, there was a win for Castletown/Ballyagran, to reach the knock out stages, Staker Wallace drew with Ahane while Garryspillane lost out to St Kieran’s while in the County Minor Football Championship, Galbally lost out to Newcastlewest
