SOUTH GAA NOTES :

Hurling is Back on the Field.

A Very Busy time on the hurling fields, Despite the restrictions there were some excellent games of hurling played when the Championships were played last weekend, in all there were 24 games played in County Senior, Premier Intermediate Intermediate and Junior with some good result for South teams, while defeat was the fate of some of the teams, there is second chance this weekend to secure the vital win to stat in contention
With another 24 games down for decision, (listed below) there are a few all South games on fixture list, In the Senior Hurling Championship, Blackrock who lost out to Ballybrown last Saturday evening will play Garryspillane in Kilkmallock at 7pm. In the Premier Intermediate Championship, there are five teams from the Division in action, including two All South games, Glenroe and Bruff who scored first round wins last Saturday evening will play Knockainey and Dromin Athlacca respectively, while Bruree will play Mungret St. Paul’s in Bruff.

In the Intermediate Championship neighbours Effin and Kilmallock meet in Bruff on Sunday at 1pm while in another all South encounter Croom will play Hospita/Herbertstown in Kilmallock on Sunday evening at 7pm. In the Junior Championship, Castletown and Garryspillane will be hoping for a second when they meet East sides, Doon and Caherline respectively on Sunday evening at 7pm. while Staker Wallace will play Claughaun in Fedamore on Saturday evening at 7pm.

South teams in County Under 21 Hurling Championship Knockout stages on this Wednesday

On this Wednesday evening 29th. July there are a number of teams from the Division involved in both County Under Hurling ‘A’ and ‘B’ Championship and 13 a side Competition. Blackrock and Killacolla Gaels will play Cappamore and Monaleen respectively in the ‘A’ Quarter Finals while in the ‘B’ Semi Finals Cois Laoi Gael play Templeglantine Meanwhile Hospital Herbertstown will play Crecora/Manister in the Semi Final of 13 a side Competition in Caherconlish

South Junior ‘B’ Hurling Championship gets underway
The South Junior ‘B’ Hurling Championship got under way on Monday evening when two games were played, Blackrock proved too good from Dromin Athlacca n Kilbreedy winning by 5.20 to 2.08 Bruff overcame Castletown/ Ballyagran in Kilfinane by 2.22 to 1.06 while on Tuesday in Hospital, Brureee and Knockainey met and is was Bruree that emerged victorious by 1.21 to 0.08 while Glenroe were due to play Kilmallock in Kilbreedy, but Kilmallock withdrew from the Championship.

CLUB Limerick Draw : Congratulations to the winners from the South GAA Clubs that won Prizes in the Club Limerick Draw held on Saturday last 25th. July. The next Draw will take place on Saturday 29th. August.
