Sadness at the Passing of Denis Barrett

Bruff GAA Club are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of our Life President, Denis Barrett. Denis gave a lifetime of service to his club and county. He was a member of the field committee who developed our current playing field, which was opened in 1957. He held positions of Club Chairman, Secretary and Treasurer and served the South Board as Divisional Treasurer. Denis was a selector with Limerick when they won the Liam MacCarthy Cup in 1973. He was also a well known referee in the county. Denis was a very proud Bruff man and he took great joy in seeing Limerick bridge that 45 year gap to the 1973 triumph last August and was particularly proud that Bruff had two players and two backroom staff involved. Our sincere sympathies go to his wife Celine, sons Pat, John, Adrian, daughters Patricia, Anne, Mary, Denise, Edel and the extended family and friends. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.
