Educational opportunities are continuing for the GAA’s County and County Officers as the Association will run
a live webinar via Microsoft Teams on 12 May at 7 p.m. to introduce them to strategies and resources to
safeguard their personal wellbeing during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The webinar will feature stories and insights from Alan Kerins (former Galway dual star, social entrepreneur,
philanthropist, and performance coach), Tom Parsons (Mayo star and Culture Manager at Jacobs (Engineering)
Europe)) and Colin Regan (GAA Community & Health Manager). The session aims to develop a better
understanding of the building blocks of wellbeing and promote the skills and resources that officers’ can utilise
to support their own wellbeing. The interactive session will also celebrate the incredible leadership
demonstrated by our officers in managing the GAA’s response to Covid-19 on behalf of our members and
communities.
The session is being jointly organised by the GAA’s Officer Development Committee and Health and Wellbeing
Committee.

Speaker Biographies
Alan Kerins
Alan Kerins is a social entrepreneur, humanitarian, philanthropist, public speaker, executive coach,
performance consultant and a former multi-code athlete. Alan founded The Alan Kerins Projects in 2005
where he raised over 20 million euro for many vital and lifesaving projects and programmes for
communities all over the World. The Alan Kerins Projects recently partnered with Gorta Self Help Africa.
Alan recently founded the Inner Winner Institute and works with Organisations and Corporates all over
the world in the areas Leadership, Culture, Performance and Wellbeing.
Tom Parsons
A Chartered Engineer and expertise in leading teams in successful project delivery since 2012, Tom has held
lead roles in delivered major infrastructure projects in the UK and Ireland and is passionate about working with
high performance teams. Tom moved into the area of safety, wellbeing and culture following completion of a
Master’s degree in professional leadership in 2018. Tom, who works for Jacobs Engineering, one of the world’s
premier design, engineering and technical services company, believes the wellbeing of people is fundamental
to Jacobs success. Toms new remit is leading Jacobs BeyondZero culture of caring in Europe, but Tom also
brings a unique experience through his high-performance background in sport, playing with the Mayo Senior
football team since 2008, and speaks from experience with respect to team culture, resilience and
performance.
Colin Regan
Colin has worked as the GAA’s Community & Health Manager since 2011, building the newest department in
Croke Park to support the Association’s work in supporting the health and wellbeing of its members and the
communities it serves. Its flagship initiative, the Healthy Club Project, currently engages 300 clubs across the
32 counties with three international clubs joining the ranks when the latest phase was launched in February
2020. It involves a partnership with the HSE, Healthy Ireland, the National Office for Suicide Prevention, the
PHA, and Irish Life (as CSR partners). He previously worked as a journalist and editor in Ireland and Boston
and continues to write a column for The Leitrim Observer, touching on all matters of life in a county he
represented for a period spanning 15 years as an inter-county footballer.
