REGRETTED DEATH OF John Mulcahy (Cappamore)
Cappamore GAA and Camogie Club send our deepest condolences to John Mulcahy R.I.P family, his wife Breda, sons Charlie, Eamon, Donal, Diarmuid, Noel and Tony, daughters Maura and Gretta and all his grandchildren, great-grandchildren and extended family and friends.
The Mulcahys are old Cappmore stock. His father, also John, won an All-Ireland with Limerick in 1897. His son was only 18 when he got the call-up in the forties.
John hurled around seven years with Limerick. He played at centre-back with Cappamore and in the forwards for Limerick.
While playing for them he was part of the winning 3 in a row team of 46,47, and 48.
John scored 5 points in seven Munster Championship appearances. In 1946, John won a Munster Junior Hurling Championship with Limerick
He played alongside the likes of Paddy Enright and Mick Herbert who became life long buddies of John along with many others on the team. John was the last surviving member of that team.
Condolences can be left through the link below.
