Rathkeale GAA Club Notes:
U15 Footballers Lose Out on Feile Shield Final:
Commiserations to the U15 Footballers of Cappagh Rathkeale, who lost out on the Feile na Peil Shield Final last Saturday. The group took to the stage in Lisdoonvarna, where they opened with a good victory over Killeshin of Laois on a scoreline of 1-01 to 0-2. After two further good displays, the lads lost out narrowly to Kilcullen of Kildare and St Breckans, Lisdoonvarna.
Cappagh Rathkeale then advanced to the Shield Semi Final and enjoyed a good victory over Clondegad of Clare winning on a scoreline of 1-03 to 0-03, ensuring their place in the Shield Final. Unfortunately, it wasn’t to be though, losing out by 2 points to Killeshin on a scoreline of 0-06 to 0-04.
Overall, well done to the players and coaches on an excellent performance in what was a heavy and slippy day for football, well done to you all. Thanks to Tom White Foodstore & Filling Station for his generous sponsorship of jerseys, shorts and socks. Also, thanks to Jane Frawley of Sweeney McGann Solicitors, for the sponsorship of a set of zip tops for the team, again it is greatly appreciated.
