Rathkeale GAA Club Notes:

Facilities Open Night:
Rathkeale GAA Club would like to invite all our members and supporters to our Facilities Open Night, which will be held in The Bog Garden, this Friday evening, September 6th, at 6.15pm.
The Club has made great progress in enhancing our facilities over the last number of years, through your generous donations with fundraisers, and also through the very generous sponsorship of Sean Hennessy Electrical Superstores. As well as the unveiling of the new stand, pathways, fencing etc, we will also be showcasing our new electronic scoreboard, which was kindly provided and sponsored by Sean Hennessy Electrical Superstores.
Food and soft beverages will be provided by Bloomers Cafe Restaurant & Caterer’s on the evening, and we hope to have a few of our local politicians in attendance. So please slot the occasion into your diaries, and we hope to see you on Friday evening.

Junior A Hurlers lose out narrowly to Castletown Ballyagran:
Our Junior A Hurlers lost out narrowly to Castletown Ballyagran last Sunday in Ballingarry. The final score on the day was 0-17 to 1-17, with Rathkeale missing a penalty unfortunately, however playing very well for the 60 minutes. We currently reside in 5th position with 3 points from a possible 9 points, with our victory coming against Garryspillane. We are still hoping that we can sneak a position into the knockout stages, with Ballybricken Bohermore and Blackrock still to play. Our next game is against Ballybricken Bohermore, this Sunday, September 8th in Bruree, with a throw in time of 3.00pm. Best of luck to the team and management in that fixture.

Intermediate Footballers Continue Good Form:
Well done to our Intermediate Footballers, who have enjoyed a good start to the Championship, with Rathkeale currently sitting in poll position, with 7 points, after four games played. Rathkeale opened their season with a draw against Claughan in Askeaton, with a score of 0-10 to Claughan’s 1-07. They then enjoyed a good win over Crecora Manister, winning on a scoreline of 2-10 to 0-03, with two further victories over Glin, and their most recent victory over Galbally, on a scoreline of 0-13 to 2-05. Their remaining group fixture is scheduled for Saturday, September 14th at 2pm, against Pallasgreen in Kilbreedy. Best of luck to the team and management with their continued preparations.

Club Limerick Draw – Mike Barrett a Winner:
Heartiest congratulations to Mike Barrett, who won 5th prize, the Exclusive Star prize, which was a travel voucher to the tune of €500, in the July Club Limerick Draw. Mike was delighted to receive his prize, which was presented recently by promoters James O’Connor and Pat Sheahan. Unfortunately we didn’t have any winner in the August draw, so fingers crossed in the September draw to all our members.
Winners Alright! Well done to Mike Barret, who was a winner in the July Club Limerick Draw.
