Rathkeale GAA Club Notes:

Deepest sympathies to the O’Sullivan family, and their extended families, on the recent passing of Michael O’Sullivan. Michael was a wonderful supporter of Rathkeale GAA Club, he played for the Club for 30 years, as well as coaching various teams for a further 10 years or so. Of course, Michael’s two sons, Mark and young Mike (RIP), also played and won numerous honours for Rathkeale over the years, with daughters Meghan and Shona being great supporters of Rathkeale GAA. Michael was known by everyone, and will be sadly missed by his family and close friends, within the community of Rathkeale. May he Rest in Peace.

Well done to our Intermediate Footballers, who have enjoyed a good start to the Championship, with Rathkeale currently sitting in second spot with three points on the board, after two games played. Rathkeale opened their season with a draw against Claughaun in Askeaton with a score of 0-10 to Claughaun 1-07. Last Friday evening, we enjoyed a good win over Crecora/Manister, winning on a scoreline of 2-10 to 0-03, with the goals coming from Mikey Morrissey and Ryan Stapleton. All teams will now take a break in the Championship until mid-August, when Rathkeale will resume in Round 3 against Glin. Best of luck to the team and management in their continued preparations.

Well done to the Cappagh Rathkeale footballers, Dara Giltinane, Ryan O’Donaghue, Conor O’Dwyer, Ronan O’Carroll and Shay Looney, who all played recently for the Limerick U14 Academy Football teams. They all came out on top, by beating Laois on both occasions, on a scoreline of 4-08 to 2-06, and 2-14 to 1-02 respectively. Well done to all the lads.

Heartiest Congratulations to Dean & Lorna Maune on the celebration of their marriage in recent weeks. Best wishes for the future from all at Rathkeale GAA, we hope that you have a very long and happy life together!

Congratulations to Vera Kenrick, who won 16th prize in the June Club Limerick Draw, to the sum of €200 last Saturday, well done Vera.

Congratulations also to our four May winners, Kathyann Dillane (Tommy Dillane accepted her prize), Olga O’Mahony, Mike Casey and Mark Sheahan, who were recently presented with their winning cheques, by their respective promoters. Well done to all, we hope you enjoy your winnings.
