RATHKEALE GAA CLUB NOTES

Junior A Hurlers

Our poor start to the Junior A Hurling Championship continued unfortunately, with a heavy defeat to the hands of our near neighbours, Croagh Kilfinny, in Askeaton last Monday evening. The game was very much a contest as far as the half time interval, when Rathkeale trailed by 4 points on a score of 2-08 to 2-04. The second half was a landslide for Rathkeale however, with Croagh Kilfinny dominant in all areas, and went onto hit 2-10 in the remaining 30 minutes to end up comfortable winners. Final score on the night was 4-18 to 3-07. That result anchors us to the bottom of the table, with Staker Wallace, both sides will meet in Round 4 which is currently scheduled for Saturday July 20th in Dromcollogher at 7.00pm. Please refer to our social media pages for updates on fixtures.

Minor Hurlers

Our Minor Hurlers, Croagh Kilfinny Rathkeale, enjoyed an impressive win last Friday evening in the Bog Garden, when they overcame Knockaderry Monagea. Final score on the night was 4-10 to 1-13. We finish the group in 3rd place which is enough for us to advance to the knock out stages, more details on fixtures to follow in the next week or so.
