RATHKEALE GAA CLUB NOTES
Our Intermediate Footballers were in action in the All County League Division 1, last Monday evening when Fr Caseys provided the opposition in a well presented Bog Garden. It was the visitors that got off to the better start and scored two goals midway through the first half to fire them into an early lead of 2-05 to 0-05 at the interval. Rathkeale clawed their way back into the game however, and with Eoghan O’Connor finding the net in the closing seconds, helped Rathkeale earn a hard fought draw. The final score was 1-11 to 2-08. The result registers Rathkeale’s first point of the league campaign and now positions them second from bottom in what is a competitive League campaign. Their next League fixture is schedule for June 29th against Drom\Broadford, we will await confirmation in the coming week.
Junior A Hurlers
Our Junior A Hurlers are scheduled to play Templeglantine in Newcastle West at 7.30pm on Saturday June 22nd, in what is now a must win game. This is Round 2 of the Championship, and Rathkeale will be hoping for better fortunes, after losing the opening round convincingly to Monagea. Best of luck to all involved.
Minors & Junior B’s
Our Minor Hurlers, Minor Footballers and Junior B Footballers are continuing with training while their respective fixtures resume after the exam breaks. More to details to follow in the coming week.
