Cappgh\Rathkeale were the dominant team for large periods of the game, however struggled to convert many scoreable chances. Indeed, it took Cian O’Carroll to fire a late point to equalize the game, with the full time score reading Cappagh\Rathkeale 0-07, Cois Laoi Gaels 1-04. During the extra time period Cappagh\Rathkeale proved to be more clinical and finally showed that ruthless streak, with Stephen Young scoring a brace of goals, while Scott Murphy also hit the net. In the end Cappagh\Rathkeale ran out worthy winners on a scoreline of 3-09 to 1-04. Well done to everyone involved, hopefully it won’t be the last silverware in the months that lie ahead.

Intermediate Foo tballers – West Senior Football League.
Our Intermediate Footballers opened their 2021 campaign with an away trip to Fr Casey’s last Tuesday in the opening round of the West Senior Football league. Considering the lack of game time for both sides, this proved to be a good competitive game with Fr Casey’s running out winners on a scoreline of 2-07 to 0-10.
Junior A Hurlers – West Hurling League
Our Junior hurlers commenced their season away to Askeaton last Saturday in the opening round of the West Junior Hurling league. Rathkeale will now turn their attention to St Kierans next Sunday (June 20th) with a throw in time of 12.00 noon scheduled in the Bog Garden. Best of luck to all involved.
