RATHKEALE GAA CLUB NOTES

Important Notice – Note to All Club Members & Supporters
Due to the current climate there are new policies with regard to the purchase of tickets for Club matches to ensure compliance with Government Regulations.
As you would have seen from Government announcement on Wednesday, outdoor gathering numbers will be staying at 200 until further notice. This means that our upcoming Junior Hurling & Intermediate Football games will be all ticket games while that Government regulation is in place.
While this 200 person limit remains in place, each participating club will receive 50 tickets to be distributed amongst members/supporters for every championship game.
The following games will be affected (note every weekend bar one from now until mid-Sept)

To apply for a ticket:
If you are interested in going to the game next Sunday, please text the club secretary (Pat Sheahan 086-8835425) before 12 noon Tuesday each week before a game requesting a ticket. Please ensure you list a name for each ticket if you are requesting.

Ticket Price
Please note that tickets are priced at €8 for all. No concessions for children, juveniles, students or OAPs
.
Allocation of Tickets
In the very likely event of demand surpassing supply, Rathkeale GAA Club will be using the system we use for All-Ireland finals (when Limerick are involved) to allocate tickets (outlined below).
Each applicant is scored on following 4 headings, with one point allocated for each
• Paid Club Member.
• Club Limerick Draw Member.
• Club Player (or Worker).
• Club Christmas Draw Promoter.
Applicants who score 4 points are looked after first, then 3, 2 and one in order down along.
If, for example, allocation falls short at the 2 pointers, a draw will be used amongst all 2 pointers forwhatever tickets are left.
A note on Club membership
Club membership is still open.
Membership of the GAA normally closes on 31-March each year but
due to Covid-19 restrictions, the club have decided to extend this to 31st July for 2020.
Contact our Club Registrar (Philip O’Donnell 086-2566683) if you wish to become a club member. We encourage all our supporters to be club members.
Membership rates are as follows:
• Non-Playing Adult (over 18) – €30
• Playing Adult – €50
• Under-18 – €20
• Family (2 adults & all under 18s in same household) – €70
Collection & payment of tickets

By 12 noon on Wednesday, you will receive a text reply as to whether your request for a ticket was successful or unsuccessful. If successful, you will be able to collect and pay for your ticket at Tom Whites Filling Station up to 8pm on the Friday night before each game.

Asking for your understanding:
The club are asking all our members and supporters to be understanding in this difficult climate. The
200 person limit is a government regulation and hopefully the Covid-19 situation will improve in the near future. This ticket system is in place to ensure the GAA follows those regulations. We will strive to ensure our allocation of tickets are distributed fairly per above plan.

Junior A Hurling Championship
Finally we have some normality resuming, with what has been a very busy couple of week within the
Club. Our Junior A Hurlers will kick start their Championship season, when they take on Feenagh\Kilmeedy in Round 1, this Sunday, July 26th. Throw in time in Knockaderry is at 7pm. Please refer to the new Ticketing policies in the above section if you wish to pre-purchase a ticket, pending
availability of course. Best of luck to all involved.

U21 Hurling Championship
Our U21 Hurlers of Croagh\Kilfinny Rathkeale are in action on Wednesday evening, July 22nd, when
they take on near neighbours Newcastlewest. It hasn’t been the most successful of campaigns with
three losses registered against us to date, after losing out to Bruff, the table toppers, on a scoreline
of 3-20 to 0-14, last Friday evening. However, performances have been better than the table would
suggest, after we lost marginally by the solitary point against Killacolla Gaels and Cappamore
respectively, pre COVID lockdown. Best of luck to all involved tomorrow evening, throw in time in
Croagh is at 7.30pm.

Club Limerick Draw – Claire Power
Well done to Claire Power who was recently presented with her Cheque of €100 by Club Promoter
Anthony Frawley, in the second Club Limerick Draw. This followed on from Con Enright who won the
Exclusive Star prize in May. The July Draw will take place on Saturday 25th of July. On top of the
fantastic cash prizes on offer, including €10,000 to the winner, you could be in with a chance to win
the Exclusive Star prize which is a two night break in Parknasilla Resort & Spa for two people. Best of
luck to all our current members, and remember it’s never too late to join!

Continued Progress in The Bog Garden
On top of the fantastic recent works that were carried out by all our volunteers in the Bog Garden, there was continued progress last week, when there was vertical draining and sanding completed. This of course would have been funded through your fantastic support in fundraisers throughout the
year. It is fantastic to see that the monies raised are been put to great use.
