RATHKEALE

Junior A Hurler Lose West League Final Narrowly
Commiserations to our Junior A Hurlers who lost out by the finest of margins in the West League Final last Tuesday night. After enjoying a competitive group campaign, Rathkeale were once again pitted against Askeaton, a team they had already drawn against in Round 1 of the campaign in a seven goal drawn thriller. Once again, there was very little between the sides, with Askeaton running out winners by a single point in Feenagh. The final score on the night was Rathkeale 1-14, Askeaton 1-15. Hard luck to all involved, however a good foundation for the Championship ahead.
On Thursday, June 2nd, the students of St Anne’s and St Joseph’s National Schools had the great pleasure of meeting the one and only Liam MacCarthy. Having missed out on this great honour in the last two years due to COVID-19, everyone was delighted to have the trophy in the school. What a great experience for all the students.
This occasion also allowed the Club to present footballs and sliotars to the schools, hopefully the young students will enjoy many great days playing GAA for years to come!
Limerick Senior Footballers
Commiserations to Barry Coleman and the players and management of the Limerick Senior Football who lost out to Cork in the All Ireland Football Qualifier last Sunday. All in all a great year for our footballers, gaining League promotion to Division 2, reaching the Munster Final, and losing out narrowly to Cork. Well done to all involved.
